We are educators, we are convinced of the power of education as a foundation for personal and social satisfaction, happiness, and prosperity. We are excited to create self-education centers inside, underserved communities with a high percentage of young population, between 12 and 25 years of age.
We aim to:
Provide young people, interested in self-education, with the opportunity to attend a nearby, homely, inspirational location, that is equipped with internet, multiple technological devices, channels, platforms, and applications with which they can learn and inform themselves of any subject they choose.
Listen to each individual, their ideas, their dreams, and their apparent obstacles to help them design and write their own plan to accomplish their goals.

DESENRÉDATE CAFÉ is an extension of the program DESENRÉDATE APUESTALE A COLOMBIA by Colegio Campestre Americano in Popayan. This program was born in 1998 as an initiative for the Social Sciences class, with the purpose to get to know Colombia's natural richness, culture, and history. This celebration remains a favorite among the educational community.

"I was once fully convinced of and in love with a dream, a big one, the kind in which you find a lot of obstacles; need for money, resources and titles, opposition, fear, and uncertainty; the kind that people tell you that is impossible, that you are incapable of, that you don't deserve, and that regardless of everything, you cannot stop dreaming about and needing it. This is my story, which I have lived over and over with education, since being a teacher is my passion. Time has passed, the huge monsters that once scared me seem smaller every day. I've gained muscle to jump obstacles and adhering to my faith, my perseverance, my self-education, and extraordinarily intelligent people who have shared this dream, I have been able to see the blessing that I longed for made reality. That young woman I was 30 years ago is no different from you, today's youth, who are facing in this moment the same needs, the same fears, and the same challenges; and this is the reason for Desenredate Cafe to exist."

The day in which the world changed also changed something inside us. We became more
aware of our human vulnerability; beyond races, power, and creeds. Although physically
isolated, we felt closer, more grateful, and much more in need of others, of everyone! We
learned once again that individual well-being is not possible without collective well-being,
neither as individuals nor as nations.
Amid these reflections and continuing with the work of redesigning the curriculum of our
educational institution, Colegio Campestre Americano CCA, we reached the point where
we had to decide what our social work should be during the following school year.
Our students had been working with the children and youth of the community of the rural
village of El Sendero for several years, we had the satisfaction of these meetings in which
they share readings, crafts, and games; however, we were still not left in peace by the
strong feeling of a project that had already many years of gestation and that proposes to
extend our educational benefits to the communities at risk. We know that for the good of
all, as individuals and as nations, we need to have a population with a more equitable
education, with possibilities to be more contributors to the development of the country and
to help young people to be more productive, accurately and quickly.
We were about to sign the donation of some computers when the question arose: what if
we took advantage of the computers, the internet, and the space for?..and so many ideas
began to emerge, new and very old until Desenrédate Café was born. This is an invitation
to be part of our team Desenrédate Café, with the awareness that not only the diseases of
Covid are spreading rapidly, without any distinction, but also the sadness produced by
poverty, the lack of opportunities, and the lack of equality in the access to a competent
educational model. Come with us to found one coffee at a time!
